How to remove gears from brick

Removing gears from the gear bricks is quite easy.  Each gear is held withing the brick by a series of tabs.  The tabs need to be cut then the gear can be removed from the brick. WARNING! Be careful with a sharp knife, it takes a little bit of pressure to cut through the tab.  Yes fingers can sometimes be reattached but its not a fun process. So use caution.

If you are uncomfortable using this technique you can choose to use a saber saw or any other cutting tool.  Once the gears are removed you will have to do a finish sanding on them to remove the tab pieces.  This can be done with normal sandpaper and elbow grease.  We use Dremel tools to sand the tabs off.

Adult supervision is required.  The gear bricks are components for building parts.  We are not responsible for damage or injuries.
